Subject:	Petition to save Shirin Alam Hooli and others
Content:	Dear Sirs, It has come to our attention that Shirin Alam Hooli (sometimes also transliterated as "Alamhoei" into western languages) was arrested in May 2008 and first sentenced to two years in prison for leaving the country without government permission. Subsequently she was sentenced to life in prison on January 10, 2010 CE for "waging war against Islam". Then, on the 16th of the same month her sentence was changed to death. Changing the verdict from life to death within a week is ample proof that your judges are only human, though too cruel to be called humane. Mere mortals who speak and kill in the name of God are much greater blasphemers than the most aggressive atheists. He has no need for torturers and hangmen in order to achieve justice. We urge you to set her free, and if you still feel that she threatens national security by her alleged ties to the Kurdish opposition, send her into exile. Such a decision would be fully covered by Article 202(4) of your Criminal Code ( please see http://www.iranrights.org/english/document-139.php ). We are ready to receive her together with all the other inmates of your death rows. Consider that one day you yourselves may need our help to escape the noose. If you show compassion now, it will be much easier to save you from the fate of the late Saddam Hussein. Remember that we are staunch opponents of a military aggression against the Iran who are asking you to help save Iranian lives. Nothing in this petition should be construed to be an excuse for attacks on Muslims or other victims of colonialism.
